All About Me

I was born in Khed, India in 1982. I moved to Sharjah, UAE when I was a little over two years old. I am the youngest among three siblings. We all were raised in Sharjah and Dubai, UAE. I completed my high school in Sharjah, after which I moved to Pune, India in 1997 to pursue my bachelor's degree in engineering. Even though I specialized in Industrial Electronics, I had a keen interest in computer hardware and software and everything related to it. This passion led me to dive into the limitless world of information technology soon after graduation.

I tried to upgrade my academic credentials but I guess I was destined to stop at what I had achieved. Formal education doesn't excite me, I have Google by my side. The next logical step, therefore, was to embark on my corporate career.

I landed my first job at MphasiS, Pune in 2005 after a short search of about a week. A year into the job and I received a call from my father to follow the family tradition of working in the Gulf. With a heavy heart (which I no longer regret), I moved to Dubai once again in 2006. A long spell of struggle looking for a good job, followed by a not-so-good opportunity in a startup venture, finally ended in a good stable opportunity at BJ Services Company in 2008. The company has since changed ownership (Baker Hughes Inc, then Baker Hughes - a GE company & now Baker Hughes) but I have been lucky enough to work in various positions in the last 15 years. I am currently working as a Sr Systems Administration Engineer for Baker Hughes.

I do have an entrepreneurial bone which led me to dive into a few business opportunities. Unfortunately, nothing has worked out as expected. I have learned from my mistakes and experiences and am confident that I will end up doing something I love with proper planning and execution. Watch out this space for more updates.

I tried my hand at blogging as well. It is something that I would love to pursue but laziness and distractions always come my way. See my blog section to see my past work. It's all about my life, thoughts and experiences. I will try to put up something new every now and then.

On the personal front - this is what defines me the best.
I am a single parent - father to a cute and naughty seven year old boy. I was lucky enough to be married to probably the best girl I could imagine. Someone whom I never knew before and was brought into my life through an arranged marriage in 2010. I got not just a wife, but a friend, critic and partner for life. A beautiful, smart, intelligent and independent person who never ceased to love and care.

However, The Almighty (SWT) had carved out her destiny in a different way, something which we never had imagined. My wife was diagnosed with an advanced stage of breast cancer during the best phase of her life - while she was carrying our baby in her last trimester. We took a conscious decision to bring this baby into this world before commencing her treatment in 2012. Our happiness was shrouded with darkness, but that didn’t stop us from doing the best for our baby. My wife eventually lost her battle to cancer in 2015, leaving behind a two and a half year old boy.

I am extremely proud of my wife who never let her condition affect the upbringing of our child. A mother who braved all odds and gave her little angel all the love he deserved. I am also thankful to The Almighty (SWT) for giving me a rare chance to serve my ailing wife and for keeping her close to me even in her last moments. I know she is away from all the pain and I pray to The Almighty (SWT) that she rests in eternal peace and is granted her rightful place in heaven.

My life revolves around my son and everything I do is for him. There is place for others too, but the kid gets top priority. I don’t know what lies ahead in the future. I might end up in a relationship, leap into a business venture or do something I have never thought of before, I don’t know. All I want is a small happy and blessed world of my own. A world where I achieve my dreams and fulfill the dreams of my beloved wife, with honesty, integrity and dignity.
